Noise ChannelThis weekend, I have updated to Joomla 1.7.  So far, so good!  It is the Labor Day weekend.  I hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer.  This summer has been too short.  I did not get to everything that I had planned.  I did not go camping.  There is still time.  I did manage to keep my job.  I was and still worried about the current Government.  I am working for a Department of Labor contract.

Getting back to Joomla, I am trying to upgrade my current non profit website to Joomla 1.7.  Most of my components to not have upgrades yet.  I have disabled them.  I am moving forward to see how different 1.7 is!  To let you know how different it is, I have been using Joomla since 1.0.  I finally bought a book to help in the transition.  There is a lot new to learn in Joomla this time.  In any case, this is my test site and person blog site.  If I mess this up no one but you will know!  I must have at least one reader.  Probably my mom, Scott , or maybe Eric.

The new Noise ChannelThis site has taken many turns over the years.  It started as another name all together.  It was bad-habits.net.  That name came from a song by Jimmy Buffett.  The song was the “Bank of Bad Habits”.  The lyric that stuck with me was “I've got this bank of bad habits in a corner of my soul.”  I felt a connection to the lyric because; I had too many bad habits.  I like to think that I have cleared most of my payments to the Bank of Bad Habits at this time in my life.

The next iteration came in its current form.  The noisechannel came from a long look into what might be head of me in life.  There seems to be a lot of noise in the world right now.  Where it leads know one really knows.  I have had lots of friends push me to put some of my life on line.  This is going to be some of what they wanted published.  It will have a lot left out.  The names will be changed to protect the innocent and guilty.  I think most of all this will be a place where I can vent about things good and evil.

There may be times in the future where there will be a frenzy of writing on this site with lots of dead air space in others.  I will try to keep writing and posting.  The unfortunate thing is this is my second non paying adventure.  My other non paying adventure is the Centreville Moose lodge’s website.  If you get a chance check it out.

About MeHi, you have found my personal place in the inter-tubes.  My name is Dan Sullivan.  I am a web application developer.  I develop in ColdFusion and many other languages.  I have been developing websites and web applications for more than twelve years.  I started developing in ColdFusion in version 4.0, way back in the day.  I have worked for companies like Computer Sciences Corporation (for 11 years), United States Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Education, New York Department of Health, U.S. Department of Labor, Terrorism Research Center, CACI Inc, Zolon Technologies, Keybridge Technologies, and most recently Creative Information Technologies.  Sites I have worked on have run the gambit from knowledge bases, data and reporting systems, to asset management systems for military dogs.  The reason I have set up this website is to give me a place to vent my creative side of my personality, and to have a place to vent my frustrations in life.  I hope you like reading my site.  I am sure I will have a few readers.  I will once in a while update this page with more information.  For now, this is a start!
